WHY #GENENDIT?

HIV & AIDS continues to be one of the greatest challenges of our time.

Since the beginning of the epidemic 30 years ago, an estimated 39 million people have died from AIDS-related illnesses. Every day, 3,000 people will die of AIDS and another 5,700 will become infected with HIV, a staggering 1 of 3 will be between the ages of 15-24.

Yet we have the tools and the knowledge to end the epidemic by 2030.
So what’s stopping us?
Young people are most at risk of contracting HIV and will be directly affected by the decisions we make today. The future of the AIDS epidemic is in the hands of these young people and by combining their energy with the commitment of the public, and the work of those focused on the epidemic, we can tackle it head on and shift the course of history.

This is our chance, our window of opportunity. Let’s create a movement of awareness, discussion, camaraderie, storytelling, responsibility, and mobilization owned by everyone. By joining forces and working together across platforms, across communities, across industries, we can inspire and be the new generation of activists that will commit to ending AIDS by 2030.

#GenEndit is the culmination of this belief: united, we can grow attention, conversation, action and momentum. Together, we are the Generation-to-End-It. #GenEndIt.

HOW DOES #GENENDIT WORK?

We create a #GenEndIt global community.
We show our common commitment to ending AIDS through collaboration, conversation, awareness, youth engagement, public support and by raising up the work of each other.
We campaign together on AIDS issues young people care about, issues like HIV testing and prevention education, more funding to fight AIDS, an end to all forms of discrimination.

WHO IS #GENENDIT?

#GenEndIt is growing. We are a movement of individuals, groups, and organizations around the world that understand by working together, we are stronger. Anyone can join the #GenEndit Movement – individuals, organizations, initiatives and campaigns. #GenEndIt is supported by a founding coalition of AIDS NGOs and foundations, a guiding body that help steer the movement.
